Virtually all of the Black Pig’s Dyke is on private farmland, and not easily visible from public areas.
Just one short section, at Aghareagh West, Co. Monaghan, is currently publicly accessible, and where the scale of the earthwork can be well appreciated. There are areas in the counties where the line of the BPD intersects with roads, and in these locations it will tend to look like an old, continuous hedgerow, occasionally with visible earthworks.
